Jackson and I visited my Baltimore sister this past weekend. My niece, her fiancé, and three golden retrievers were also present and may I say the difference between my fairly quiet house and a house full of young goldens is immense. They are full of exuberance, joy and energy, accompanied by panting, slobber, and hair. It was fun. The last time you saw Gracie was when she was little – This is Grace now – at one year, she appears to have acquired some gravitas but appearances are quite deceiving:
This is her cohort in crime and best friend Lily, who at 7 months is as sweet as she can be and wiggly as all get out:
And this is Maddie, who has given up trying to instill some wisdom into these goofballs and spends a lot of time under the piano near the air conditioning vent:
Her sweet old face reminds me of Geordie’s.
Anyway, needless to say, we had a good time and were happy to be home again!
Our first shipment of Kauni came in this past week. There are 7,940 projects in Kauni on Ravelry – check out some ideas here, then come in and pick your favorite colorway. I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet, but it might be this or maybe this. What do you think?
I’ve finished up a bunch of projects this week, thank goodness and will have some photos for you next week after they’re blocked and I can bully someone into modeling. Here are some really great projects in the meantime:
Gail Corvaia brought in her finished Barbara Walker afghan, full of blocks in different colors and stitch patterns. It’s really lovely and Gail says it works perfectly in the room she’ll use it in:
Kim Walker brought in her Celes shawl, which she wore to a wedding recently, knit in a wonderful mango shade of Filisilk:
Here Beth Rumble is modeling her perfect Napa Sweater, in a wonderful denim shade of Rittenhouse – very nicely done!
She has been busy and modeled this just-finished top-down vest in Sprout as well:
And Jill Pelcher cannot stop making these adorable ponchos for her granddaughters! Here’s her latest:
Stay cool and I’ll see you soon.
Trish
