Sorry it’s been a long time since I posted, nearly a month! I’ve had a sinus infection (we think) that has laid me low for weeks and just didn’t have the juice to write. Things are finally looking up, thank goodness!

We got a very nice thank-you note from Zoe’s House Rescue in response to our donation in memory of Pat Darosh:

So thanks to everyone who participated in our “Pat Darosh Memorial Knit-Along” (sardonic smile from Pat) and made the donation possible!

The shop is full to the ceiling of great yarns. From Plymouth, we have great fall colors in Encore, beautiful new shades in Worsted and DK Merino Superwash

and are fully stocked up in Baby Llama 100. (I need to find a small-ish project in Baby Llama to put on display so I can bring my pullover home. It would feel very warm and plush on this cold morning.)

Juniper Moon’s new yarn Firefly finally came in and it’s very beautiful, a blend of brushed merino, cotton and metallic.

I’ve already snagged some to make a pretty holiday pullover. I’m using this pattern from Heidi Kirrmaier, which looks casually tailored in this pic,

but in Firefly, it’s a bit dressy. I can see it for holiday dinners and parties, where you’d like to be a bit dressed-up but still warm and comfortable. I’m only on the first sleeve (productive knitting has also suffered during the last month) but I hope to have a finished sweater in a few days.

Now that it’s colder, thoughts turn to holiday gifts. Here’s one that’s quick, fun to make and easy, and would be useful on any cold winter day:

Simple stockinette stitch and big needles make this project, in a fluffy alpaca blend, great for TV-watching or social knitting, and the new colorways this season are beautiful:

Don’t forget Knit Night is this Thursday, October 22, 6 – 8 pm. Come meet your fellow crafting enthusiasts!

That’s it for today. I hope I’ve enticed into thinking about a new project, but if your time is REALLY limited, you can think about imitating Prada:

Don’t know that you’ll get $775 for it, though. I wonder how many of them they’ve sold?
