Don’t Panic!

I’m getting a lot of worried looks about the new hours, folks.  This doesn’t mean that I’m closing tomorrow!  What it means is that I need more time away from the shop and all the background stuff that goes with it.  I’ll be 65 this summer, and I want a more relaxed pace and more space in my life.  Like many of you, I’ve worked all my life. It’s always been about making a living and I want my life to be about something else now.  It doesn’t have to be an important something, it doesn’t have to be a big something, but it has to be different and more creative.  I want the time to design some things, and I want the time to take some yoga classes again, and I want the energy to see friends outside the store, and paint my dining room, and that is all that this change means.  So don’t worry, be happy!

I’m in the middle of Bevel

– a lot of knitting, but easy and pleasant knitting.  Before I started, while I was dithering about colors,

(these are the colors I chose:)

knits up. Wonderful yarn, fun to see what happens next, simple, satisfying travel knitting, all in one neat little cup. The pattern is free with purchase at the shop.

Donna’s second Challah class starts on April 11.  I’ve seen some really pretty versions from the first class, which just finished up.  Donna Hain finished hers first and let me take her picture.

Love the colors on her, beautiful job.  She’s the cutest!

One more thing I used to break up a lot of plain knitting.  Jettie Hunt sent me the pattern for Voff, a Lopi pattern for a dog sweater.  I had to make it, even though Purl won’t wear it till next year and searched out some scraps of this and that.  I can’t have her model it because it will just be a blur, so here it is still unblocked but so darn cute.

Happy Easter, Joyous Passover – see you soon!
