Disappointed…A Little

You all know I had my eye on a certain little adoptee that I hoped to meet next week, but found out that he had been adopted this past weekend.  So, I’m a little disappointed, but at the same time, I’m happy that he has found a good home – and I know it’s a good one because this rescue agency does a lot of checking up on the people who adopt from them.  So, it wasn’t meant to be and I’m looking again.  I have puppy yearnings but my head says there are too many adult dogs who need a home. We’ll see what happens.

We have a pretty Valentine’s Day display to inspire you.  Donna set it up this past weekend and did a spectacular job:

Donna made some new needle cases in gorgeous red fabrics, we all have made projects in red yarn, including a quick crocheted scarf.  Not shown here is a Gap-tastic Cowl in luscious red Paloma which Janet is finishing up this week.  And we have the cutest little beaded heart kits for you to make, exclusive to our shop:

Everything you need to make this cute pin/decoration is in the kit, except needles.  It’s a fun and simple first beading project and a nice gift for a knitter even if you don’t want to make one!

We received some new items from Walker Bags:

I love the colors and the sturdiness of these bags and accessories, and I love that they’re made in San Francisco, not China!  I have one of the small accessory pouches and it goes everywhere with my knitting, holding markers, a fix-it tool, a yarn needle, and Puppy Snips.  We also got in some project bags, handmade by our good friend Bev Bortner who deserted us to live in the wilds of western Pennsylvania.  I would show you the bags, but we have only a few left!  They are beautifully designed and made in wonderful coordinated fabrics – we should have some more in a few weeks, and I promise to take pictures.

We are getting a shipment of Tosh Merino Light this week – I can’t tell you the colors because I ordered in March last year.  Wish they’d get their act together.  If I think of it, I’ll post a photo tomorrow after UPS delivers.

Customer Projects!

Elizabeth Billings (who is Karen Walter’s mom, by the way) made this very pretty sweater in a light denim-y color of Lace Merino, an extrafine merino fingering from Ella Rae.  It is beautiful, soft, and very well knit:

I can’t remember if I showed you this before, but I’m going to do it again anyway!  This is Diane Taylor-Raring in her Nanook, and she looks so great that it doesn’t hurt to see it twice:

This reminds me that I haven’t even worn mine yet – sometime this week I will.  Love it!

Marci Frey made beautiful cowl and mitt sets for gifts and just finished them up.  It was a late Christmas at the Yoga Inlet on Saturday:

Aren’t they great?

I’m knitting away on various things, all in a shade of jade or evergreen.  It’s possible that I’ve entered my green period without even knowing it.  This little pile represents 5 projects, only one of which is even close to being finished:

Well, it’s a good day to stay in and knit!  Hope you get to do the same.

See you soon…
