Distracted

Sorry for missing a post last week – I forgot about it entirely.  It’s been a distracting week, seeing new lines for spring, making plans for the coming year, and – this is the big distraction – I’ve found a new dog that I’m hoping to adopt.  I mentioned to my sisters that I thought I was finally ready to try to fill the empty spot left in my life when Geordie died and they went on the job, inundating me with pictures of cute dogs till I didn’t know where to look.  This one – I’m not going to show him yet because I don’t want to jinx anything – looks like he might be a good fit for us and for the shop.  If the weather is good enough, Jackson and I will be going to meet him, and, I hope, bring him home on the weekend of January 26.  That’s all I’m going to say about it right now.

So, now I’m going to catch up with all the photos that I’ve taken and have been sent to me over the past several weeks.  I hope you’ve seen David’s beautiful Leaf Sweater – what a pretty design!  We’re trying to talk David into teaching a class for us this spring, when the weather is better and he won’t risk his life driving down from the mountains.  Won’t that be fun?

We finally drew Frequent Buyer Cards for our gift certificate raffle – it’s supposed to be once a month, but I had forgotten for so long that we decided to draw 8 this time.  The following all won $25 gift certificates:

Debby Andrews, Pat Bowen, Annie Harlin, Deb Hawk, Jeri Kozloff, Jill Pelchar, Nadine Royer, and Marilyn Seiders.  Congrats!

Okay, so NOW, I’m going to catch up, etc.

Nancy Baker’s gifted socks:

Kristin Ruth’s gifted Gelato Bags:

Mary Ann Posey’s gifted lace shawls:

Beth Blair’s gifted baby sweater:

Suzy Crump’s granddaughter in the shrug that Grammy made her (I lost the pictures of the things Suzy made for her daughters-in-law) 🙁

All I can say is that our knitters are very generous with their time and talents.  Lovely gifts, all!

Annie Harlin who is talented in many disciplines and has a fabulous eye for color and proportion, makes the most beautiful and unique creations. The cowl she wears below is her own design:

Speaking of own designs, Meg Roke who grew up here and now lives in Ohio, took one of my very first learn-to-knit classes, back in 2002.  She’s now married and a mother and is a knitwear designer.  Check out her blog, and congratulate her for selling one of her designs to Quince & Co!

Janice Bieber made this cute, cozy hat in an evening:

Great job, everyone!

Come and see us soon:
