My good old digital camera has finally given up the ghost. I’m kind of sad about it, even though it ate batteries like there was no tomorrow and had very little memory. It was with me for many years and took pictures of many, many beautiful projects! These are its last two:
Janice Bieber made this pretty jacket, from the book Knitting in the Sun, in a gorgeous shade of Seduce, with great lace details at the cuffs and front band, then came in to find the perfect shawl pin to hold it in place:
Margaret D’Amico took Janet’s Cabled Mitts class and made this pair in a beautiful shade of Dream in Color Classy (with perfectly-groomed nails to show them off!):
And then the camera went bye-bye, so I can’t show you the Vodka Gimlet I finished in Dream in Color Calm, which I must say is beautifully soft and smooth and wonderful when it’s blocked. I want a pullover in it because this lovely wool is definitely a next-to-the-skin yarn. David is yearning to make a sweater for himself out of it, which he could obviously do in his sleep, which is proven by that fabulous lace tablecloth he made – it’s so stunningly lovely!
Okay, so now I have to find out if I can take decent photos with my iPad so I’ll be playing with that for a while, working on Larch in a beautiful navy Donegal Tweed, and fighting with Madelinetosh to get some doggone yarn in here! This may be the last shipment I get from them; I don’t support the squeaky-wheel-gets-the-grease philosophy of doing business. So what are your favorite hand-dyed yarns? Dream in Color is my current fave – beautiful yarn, beautiful colors, they actually ship stuff to me – it’s all good, but I know some of you yarn nuts out there spend a great deal of time searching out the rare and wonderful, so what have you discovered? Leave a comment!
See you soon…
Trish
