As I sit typing this, outside it’s a dreary, muggy morning to start September. But I just wanted to thank Mother Nature for giving us such a great August, with enough rain to make everything green and beautiful, and temperatures that were pretty darn delightful. Pennsylvania is the best place in the country – just my opinion of course – but I’m right.

Lots of stuff happening in the shop just now. Our Pat Darosh Memorial Knit-along just finished up, with proceeds of about $220 from the yarn people bought plus donations from some other very sweet people, and I’m rounding up to $250. Pat’s little dog Sarah (who now resides with Pat’s niece) came from a shelter but her sons didn’t know which, so the participants voted among local rescues, and the consensus was Zoe’s House in Sinking Spring, so I’ll be sending them the money this week. Thanks to everyone who participated and donated. It was great getting together during the summer doldrums, and Pat would have loved it!

Our fall class list is up on the Class Page, and I hope you can find something you’d like to make. The models for the shop are in the works – I’ll be honest: this past summer, all our brains took a vacation and it’s been tough getting them back in gear, so we were a little late choosing projects and getting our acts together. But I’m really happy with the schedule; it serves a wide variety of skill levels with lots of fun projects to make and lots of things to learn and stretch your knitting muscles.

Our Knit Nights are proving to be popular, I’m happy to say, with steady participation (even on stormy evenings!) The next dates are Thursdays, September 10 and 24 (may I just break in to say, thank you, auto-correct, because I cannot seem to type September without messing it up. I’m looking forward to October) from 6 – 8 pm. Bring a project that you can work on while chatting!

And, one more thing, September 9 is Ruby’s “Gotcha!” Day. She’s been with me (and us) for nearly a year, and she has proven to be the best “shop dog” possible.

Her sweet and unassuming personality make her the perfect companion, and she loves her job of meeting and greeting at the shop. So to celebrate the sheer luck of adopting the best dog ever (okay, yours is also the best, fine!), we’re going to have a sale on Wednesday, September 9. Everything in the shop will be 10% off, with the exception of class fees, for that day only. A bunch of new yarns are scheduled to arrive mid-September, and, while I’m looking forward to that because who doesn’t love new yarn, new prices will also go into effect, so take advantage of a discount on the old prices if you can. Also, if you’ve already signed up for class and bought the yarn, bring your slip in and you’ll get a credit for 10% of the yarn price.

And one more thing: if you’re a fan of Opal Sock yarn, and who doesn’t love their amazing colors and sturdy long-lasting yarn, we just got in some great colors.

Fingering (sock) weight:

And DK weight:

These are at the old price, and thank goodness because they ship out of Canada, and since somebody just had a hissy fit and put a 50% tariff on things coming in from Canada, the price will go through the roof. But we have plenty!!
