I love this time of year at the shop! After a long hot summer, it feels so good to be amongst all the wonderful yarns, old and new, that are filling the shop just now. Others feel the same, I think, because things are busy and everyone wants to start something (or finish something, or get help with something). I’m the same way, with projects filling my head and prompting that old feeling that I really need four arms and hands so I can knit everything double-quick.

The baby bay is full of Encore, our favorite worsted-weight wool/acrylic blend:

– it’s so practical for blankets and kids’ wear (and dog wear BTW), and we have a fabulous array of colors for anything you may want to make. It’s machine washable and dryable and still well-priced. If you can’t find a color you love, I just don’t know what to do with you!

These boxes are full of a variety of wonderful yarns.

Some you may know, like Patagonia (a favorite organic washable wool), and some that are new to all of us. These soft, poofy balls

make into a gorgeous one-ball scarf

and all you have to do is knit a row, then purl a row. Lovely well-done gradients, big needles, great TV knitting, gifts done. Sometimes all you need is a great yarn, and there are lots more to explore!

Our Madame Entrechat shrug class has finished, and I wanted to show a couple of finished projects. Michelle Wheatley made a summer version, very practical to wear over sleeveless dresses and tops, in a neutral that will go with a lot. I love how the back gathers at the waist:

Lynda Slovitsky made hers in a tweedy wool blend that will add just a bit of warmth when you need it:

Fun class, nice folks, good results! Eidola Shawl class starts next week!

And here’s our Ruby, sleeping under my desk as I write. She’s settling in beautifully and I couldn’t ask for a sweeter dog:

Have a great day!
