Just a quick word on a beautiful August morning…All about Dreaming in Color!

I love Dream in Color Yarns. Their dyeing is excellent, with inspirational color ways that make me want to immediately start knitting something RIGHT NOW!! I particularly love their fingering yarn base Smooshy with Cashmere. It’s luscious, smooth, soft, and sturdy. I never feel that I have enough, even though our shelves at the shop are full right now and my at-home stash has been building over many years. So, of course, I signed up for their pop-up colors club, which sends me a unique colorway every month during the fall and winter. On its way to me right now is Sagrado, an absolutely stunning mix of shades that you can see in this photo below, which shows their cute Terra Hue Shawl:

It uses one skein of Smooshy w/ Cashmere and an interesting slip stitch pattern to make the colors the star of the show. It’s super cute and the elongated shape can be styled many different ways.

Meg Roke is a designer from this area and I love it when she comes home and visits the shop. Her patterns for small projects are some of my favorites, because they’re cute and wearable and don’t take forever (she’s a busy mom so she knows what it’s like to have limited time to knit!) She used Smooshy for her newest shawl design called Bloomsbury.

The simple fabric lets the lovely fiber shine, and she added a contrasting picot edge just for fun. I love it, and we have some really beautiful semi-solid colors in Smooshy. This project is absolutely do-able for a great wear-this-fall accent piece.

And just to wrap up our Dream in Color obsession: I posted this photo of their super-super-bulky Savvy a few weeks ago when it came in.

Well, I couldn’t leave it alone, so I revived a couple of old free patterns and made this set in a long weekend:

Nice big needles. Luscious yarn. Warm and soft and washable winter garb. This has it all, and they’re all from one skein of Savvy. It’s a truly satisfying knitting experience.

Limited quantities, unlimited yarn goodness! Now, on to finalizing the fall class schedule. Coming soon…
