Well, I have to say it was nice to have the shop full of people again! We had our first get-together for Casapinka’s Snark-O-Meter Mystery Knit-Along on Sunday and listening to all our voices chatting, admiring, catching up with each other…well, it was heart-warming and just great. It’s been a long time since we were able to have a group event.

I’m going to post my progress here and on the store’s Ravelry page, (Karen kindly started the Snark-O-Meter thread for us) so anyone who wants to preserve the mystery, please beware! Here is my shawl so far, through the end of Clue #1:

So far I’m liking how the colors are working together, although I’ve deviated from her recommended sequence. And as usual, it’s all fun stitchwork! I can’t wait to see how everyone else is doing and I’m hoping everyone will set up their projects on Ravelry.

So, I’m not just twiddling my thumbs between clues, of course. I’ve finished a couple of small projects while waiting for the KAL to get going. Here are two little boy, little girl baby vests done in Encore (1 ball each!) from an easy Knitting Pure & Simple pattern:

This is an amazing one-ball scarf in Lang’s new Cashmere Dreams, an almost-lighter-than-air blend of cashmere and silk. This scarf weighs less than one ounce and you have to feel it to believe the softness!

And look what Karen made for my birthday!

It’s Dashing Dachshund by Ella Austin on Ravelry – so cute! It might keep my yearnings for another dog under control!

We have lots of other wonderful stuff starting to arrive for fall. I stuffed it all in the winding room to make room for our group,

but we’ll sort it out and tell you all about it. Let’s start thinking cool nights and breezy days and leaves falling and deep blue skies…
