Paperwork

Well, I’m caught up with paperwork from the sale.  Thank you to everyone who came, it was very successful for us, and I hope you feel the same way!  Now on to taxes, which are starting to keep me awake at night, so I know I must get things organized and sent off to my lovely brother-in-law soon.

Kudos to Donna, Janet, Karen and Jayne, though, for their incredible work cleaning out and organizing the kitchen and classroom.  We threw away tons of old paperwork, display items, dusty baskets, things we couldn’t really identify, and so on.  It looks so much better, I’m going to put them onto the cotton room in a month or two, when it’s time to put cottons out onto the main floor, and see if I can chisel a little office space out of that mess.

Meanwhile, I’ve been knitting away with very little to show for it.  Very soon I’ll finish up several projects and take pictures.  A great cabled summer sweater in Debbie Bliss Amalfi, a terrific loose-knit tank in Claudia Laceweight Linen, a shawl in two colors of Fiber Company Acadia, a throw in Manos Wool Clasica, and a simple little topdown sweater in Lang Sol Degradé.  All just needing a little bit of this or that to finish up.  Of course, all I want to do is get new yarn in and start new things.  In a couple weeks, we’ll have lots of new yarns to work with – can’t wait!!

We got in a bunch of Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light, a fingering-weight wool we all love, but I have nothing left to show you.  It’s gone except for a few skeins of a few colors – of course, you only need one or two skeins to make a gorgeous shawl.  I wish I had ordered twice as much!  It takes so long to come in, but they were very nice and managed to get our shipment here in time for our Celes Shawl Class.  So all I have to show you this week is Namaste’s new Boardwalk Bag – a really great backpack-type bag:

This is the front of the bag, which has a zippered pocket and a secure buckle closure and you can see the metal-tipped drawstrings to cinch the top:

This is the reverse side, showing the adjustable shoulder straps and the carrying handle, as well as the vertical zippered pocket:

The interior is lined with faux-suede in this great neutral light gray, which means you can actually see what’s inside.  There are two open and one zippered pocket inside:

And these are the colors it comes in, in Namaste’s signature animal-friendly faux leather, which is even nicer than in their earlier bags and holds up for years, as I can testify:

I love the chocolate brown and don’t have a bag in that color.  But I may have one very soon – I love the backpack style for carrying things while managing two cocker spaniels who travel at very different speeds!

That’s all for this week.  Meanwhile, be sure to look at David’s accomplishments.  He took Lynne’s Queen Ann’s Lace Scarf class last weekend and finished it the same day.  It’s a very gorgeous scarf!

See you soon…
