MadTosh Coming This Week!

0 Posted by - June 4, 2013 - Knitting

Sometime Wednesday morning, UPS is going to deliver a whole pile of MadelineTosh Merino DK in approximately 15 colors.  If you want the pick of the colors (ordered in November, so heaven only knows what they are), make plans to come in soon!

Thursday is Knit Night from 6 – 8 p.m. Hope we’ll see you there.

BTW, I sent out an email this morning.  If you didn’t get it, I don’t have your correct email address, or we’re going to your junk folder.  Check it out!

Janet’s sock class finished up this week, everyone finishing at least one pair of beautiful socks!! Here are Marilyn Seiders’ pair, very nice indeed in cotton/nylon Sockina.

Mary Ellen Leidy made this pretty pair in Ella Rae Lace Merino:

Beth Rumble made 2 pair during the course of the class and is modeling one of each!

(Sorry for the photo, I think the camera was set on video!)  Anyway, nice job, guys!

Najma Iqbal dropped in quickly with her finished baby blanket before jetting off to Bangladesh to visit family.  Such a happy little blankie for a new grand!

And I finished Turn of the Glass, which turned out very posh indeed in Dream in Color’s Perfectly Posh Sport.

I loved knitting this sweater, the project was interesting and the yarn is luxurious but sturdy at the same time. Stay tuned, if the pattern is too challenging to knit on your own, we may have a class for it.  Let me know if you’re interested.

Bought some more yarn this week – I’ve been rather conservative (for me) the last couple of years but it seems that that time has passed!  Sales rep Josie Baxter showed me many interesting lines, one of which was Island Yarns.  I bought a little of their merino/bamboo fingering yarn – very pretty/ machine washable/ 600 yards for a very reasonable price.  This is the way they showed the colors (See the Beekeeper’s Quilt on Rav):

Very clever and delightful!

Speaking of clever and delightful, Jettie Hunt brought her lovely friend Claire from Paris to the shop.  Did you know Jettie speaks fluent French?  That girl is full of surprises!

Must go and enjoy this very beautiful day!
