Our first really nice spell of weather – it’s absolutely dreamy outside! And it makes me feel kind of lazy and dreamy, too. I’m trying to accomplish things, but really, all I want to do is look outside, sit outside, or walk the dogs. Purl is learning to walk with Jack and me – she tends to hop and prance and bounce instead of walking and it’s totally cute. I was looking at websites on puppy development yesterday. Purl will be 4 months old on the 15th, and generally smaller dogs will be at about 40% of their adult weight and 70% of their adult height at that age. Now, all bets are off with her because she’s certainly outside the norm, but if that’s true for her, Purl will be about 13 pounds when she’s fully grown and only about 2 inches taller than she is now. That’s one tiny cocker, and I just love the thought of her staying so small, as long as she’s healthy. Here’s the latest Purl Pic, for those who don’t get in the shop much:
Okay, on to business!
We got in the most beautiful colors of Bamboo from Dyelot Yarns this week.
I believe that this is true bamboo yarn, not rayon from bamboo (which is really just rayon – or viscose if you’re in Europe). It has a beautiful sheen, interesting texture and some body to it. I’m knitting it at 20 stitches over 4 inches in stockinette on a size 6 to make CeCe from Chic Knits
and I like it, but when I swatched it, my stitches were beautifully even on a size 4 at 22 stitches over 4 inches, a little bit tighter.
We’re adding some new classes in crochet. I haven’t gotten around to updating the Class page yet – told you I was having trouble buckling down to work – but I will get there!
On to customer projects:
Marilyn Seiders made this beautiful Vodka Gimlet in Janet’s class, and Donna blocked it for her. It fits her beautifully! I couldn’t get a frontal picture because she was wearing a beautiful but very bright royal blue shirt and that’s all the camera could see, so this will have to do. But you can see how well it fits and the pretty waistline detail:
Jamie Reitnouer made this cute hat for her adorable granddaughter and is now starting an Inspira Cowl:
Stacy Scheib made this lovely sweater in Souffle, and Donna finished it beautifully, making longer sleeves as requested. Good job, both!
Okay, that’s all I have time for today. Jack is at the groomer and is ready to be picked up. He’ll be so happy to have shorter hair now that it’s warming up! Yay!
See you soon…
Trish
