It has been 2 months since I last posted! I feel bad about that, but in my defense, it’s been a bit crazy at the shop. I’ve been bringing in yarn early to avoid price increases and that meant finding room for all of it somewhere. Here’s a taste of what has been pouring through the door…

…plus a bunch more! Which is a lot of fun but a lot of work to update everything and put it away in some semblance of order. The best fun, of course, is knitting with the new yarns and finding out what they want to become in our hands.
And there’s the new class list, which is amazing if I do say so myself, with a lot of different kinds of projects and levels of experience. (If you haven’t seen it, check it out here.) All the models are complete and ready for your inspection, especially this beauty that Karen just finished:

This is Boulevard des Fleurs, Karen’s top-down sweater class. That beautiful circular yoke says it all:

(Showing it in grayscale to highlight the details, I hope.) It’s a lovely sweater, especially in Berroco’s new yarn Aurelia…

…a blend that uses cotton for the core and adds the softness and color with merino wool. A perfect match of project and yarn. (And there are still spaces left in the class.) Come in and take a look.

This is my finished Eidola shawl class model. I love the way it turned out. I used 4 colors of Rowan’s Felted Tweed. The shawl is fun to make; between the color changes, stitch changes and different techniques used, it’s never boring. It looked kind of lumpy while I was knitting it, but blocked out beautifully. There are still spaces available in the class!
After such a long time, I could go on and on, still so much to show you from the shop. But my most exciting news is that I’ve adopted a sweet little 7-year-old cocker spaniel named Ruby.

Ruby was rescued from a puppy mill, where she was bred multiple times a year so the puppies could be sold. She lived in a crate in a barn and never got to go outside and never was inside a house. The remarkable thing is that she has a very sweet nature and loves people,

so she wasn’t mistreated, just deprived of attention and experience. She’s still fascinated and intimidated by the outside world, but is an escape artist so when the door is opened, she’s through it if possible! She’s getting to be quite comfortable and well-behaved indoors now. Come meet her; she would love to see you!
