Yippee! Another rainy, gray day! Aren’t we lucky????!! As dark, dank, and depressing as this winter has been, I’m surprised we’re not all hanging from the rafters by a hank of yarn. But spring is on the way, and surely that must mean a little sun? I’m ready!
Here are a couple spring sweaters to remind us that it will soon be time to lighten up:
Donna Guthrie made this Low Tide cardy, modeled by headless Donna Hain (who was sweet enough to model even though she had just come from the gym) with a pretty lace detail at the yoke, a wide neck, lower pointed hem in front, and cap sleeves from a few balls of Cotton Fine, an inexpensive and seasonally apt project. Love this spring green, we have lots of brights to work with, and that’s almost as good as sunshine:
The sizing on the pattern is from toddler through adult, so it’s also a great way to use up some fingering weight scraps if you have a little one to knit for.
Janet made this gorgeous cardigan from Cocoknits’ Sabine pattern, using Summer Tweed from Skacel. It’s so pretty on her, it’s a perfect summer cardigan. It would also look great in Berroco’s Seduce. And you can wear it so many ways, with the fronts loosely closed with a pin, draped and open, or crossed and fastened at the front for a fitted look:
This shot shows you the fabric and eyelet details, which accent the raglans, the sleeves and the waist details:
I have more to show you, but it has taken about an hour to upload these photos – can’t tell you what’s going on, but Purl and I have a vet appointment today so I’ve got to get going. I’ll just show you the little so-and-so with her new favorite toy, which dispenses food!
Cutest face ever!
Trish
