A whole day with nothing scheduled! No doctor’s or vet’s appointments, no grooming for me or for Jack, no sales reps, no meetings, and the shop’s not open. I think I have a very uncomplicated life and yet this kind of day hardly ever comes up. So I’m going to do a quick post and go out and do what I want today.
First, apologies for not getting the shop open in time on Sunday. Jackson had surgery on his foot last week to remove a lump and Sunday, I guess, the pain patch wore off. Being a male, he doesn’t deal with pain very well and I panicked when there was whining, shaking, drooling and other drama, so we ended up at the emergency vet. I had forgotten my phone, or so I thought, so couldn’t call Donna to ask her to come in early. Found my phone in my back pocket when I got home, that’s how stressed I was. Jack is fine, by the way, they prescribed some mild pain meds, told me sternly that he shouldn’t be allowed to jump on anything or do stairs (yeah, right) and he has settled down nicely. The lump was benign and by this time next week, the whole ordeal should be over.
So, to some photos:
Here is a baby hat that Sylvia Kurpiewski made from Lace Merino Chunky and some fuzzy stuff from her stash. Very cute! Love the exuberant tassel.
This is Margitta Pfleger modeling her latest version of Leftie, a super popular pattern on Ravelry. It takes two colors (or more) of sock yarn. Margitta’s version is one of the prettiest I’ve seen:
Donna popped into the shop on the day of Jackson’s surgery and introduced Taylor to all of us. She also modeled her latest project, a really great jacket made from Brown Sheep’s Lanaloft, a nice plump sportweight singles, with good stitch definition. They make a cute couple, don’t they? I imagine Taylor spends a lot of time under Donna’s wing, she looks very happy there:
Jill Pelcher made this sweet little gansey for her granddaughter’s birthday. She brought her in to model it, having gotten the finishing done just in time. She did a great job on the sweater, both knitting and seaming, we’re so proud of her. And I had to show you the little one in all her birthday finery – one can never have too many ruffles!
Lourdes Rogers just finished Janet’s beginner class and just loves to knit! She came in wearing a beautiful drop-stitch scarf she made and I begged her for a photo because it looked so nice on her. She has just learned cables and is off and running with a seed stitch and cable scarf:

Beth Blair just finished this handsome scarf in Rittenhouse for a Christmas present. (We’re not allowed to say it’s pretty because it’s for a guy!)
Sandy Albert made this gorgeous Waterfall Vest that fits her perfectly. Donna blocked it for her and it drapes and flows just right!
Look at this back detail:
Wonderful!
Our Hurricane Sandy relief fund is now up to just under $475, thanks to everyone who has shopped with us so far.
I’m off to run around and spend some money I don’t have while Jackson sleeps off his latest dose of Tramadol. See you soon!
Trish
