Happy dreary old April Fools’ Day! I hope the Easter Bunny was good to everyone and that you haven’t hogged down all the candy already! Soon it’s going to get warmer (at least I’m pretty sure) and we’ll all be wearing fewer layers, and I for one haven’t yet had the courage to try on last summer’s clothes to see what damage this winter did to my so-called figure.

As you probably know, our spring class schedule is posted. There’s still room in everything, but I’m happy with the response so far. Deb brought in her Riptide Vest and I talked her into modeling it – it’s so adorable on her:

And several people have tried it on and guess what? They all looked great! Deb made hers in Felted Tweed, which is lovely and warm, but I’m inspired to make it as a summer layer, maybe in Remix Light. Here’s a back view:

Love it!

And I’m going to brag on couple of our customers who brought in finished class projects:

Andrea Dragonette is somewhat new to knitting, and is learning so fast! She’s well on her way to being a very accomplished knitter as you can see by her first sweater project:

She took Karen’s Seaway class and did a great job. I also like that she went her own way and instead of the fuzzy yarn that we chose, decided to knit it in Patagonia, a beautiful organic merino that really shows off the cables. It’s good to have your own vision!

Lynda Slovitsky – a super knitter – took my Artus Shawl class and brought in her beautifully finished and blocked shawl:

Lynda went her own way with materials, too, and instead of a fuzzy alpaca blend, used a different merino tweed. I love how crisp her colors look, and you can see how well-blocked it is by looking at the inside:

Beautiful inside and out!

I’m taking part in the Twenty-Four Birds MKAL, but I can’t show you because it’s all bunched up around a needle. I’m not in love with the colors I chose so I have a certain lack of enthusiasm about the project. The beginning was a little tricky but the knitting isn’t too hard and it’s fun to see what other people are using. Other than that, I’m just messing around, aimlessly playing with color in the shop and waiting for inspiration. Which will probably come just about the time that the weather turns fine and there are a hundred other things to attend to because that’s the way life is!

Fingers crossed that spring is lurking just behind this cold rainy day!
