I’m just starting a week’s vacation and I’m pretty sure I’m going to like it. I’m going to pretend that I’m a retired lady who has nothing on her mind past the next book I’m going to read or the next knitting project I’m going to start and see what that’s like. (What I think is that I’m going to love it for about 4 or 5 days and then I’m going to be bored and start missing you all. You’re pretty special, you know.)
Anyway, I’m taking the easy way out for this post and showing some of your wonderful projects.
Here is Cindy Schuchart’s great-looking topdown summer sweater, from a class that Janet just finished teaching, in a nice denim-y shade of Debbie Bliss’s Juliet:
Leigh Glenn made this cute short version of one of our favorite Knitting Pure & Simple patterns, the Cap-Sleeved Vest, using just a few skeins of Classic Elite’s Sprout:
Brenda Makuch finished her Louisa from Cocoknits in a beautiful warm brown, a great color for her. It fits beautifully, ready for fall!
Shawls are favorite summer projects and I’ve got some beauties to show you:
Diane Ruth finished this lovely The Hole Story shawl in Mirasol’s wool/silk/bamboo Nuna:
Marci Frey made her Dinner in the Eiffel Tower shawl from a foreign material, but, eh bien, it’s quite lovely, n’est-ce pas?
Sarah Ruppert is loving making shawls of every type now. Her first one to be completed was Imagine When by Joji Locatelli, in a beautiful shade of Jilly from Dream in Color:
Okay now, get ready! Karen Wenrich has fallen in love with Zephyr Cove, a shawl that uses two colors of fingering-weight yarn to perfection. Just look at this collection of beautiful shawls in every shade of the rainbow (well, almost – she found another combo or two while she was here.) They look super vibrant because of the bright sunshine when we took the pictures. They are just gorgeous!
Okay, that’s me this week. Enjoy the 4th, everyone, and eat a hot dog for poor Jackson. He’s afraid of loud noises, so it’s his least favorite holiday.
