Know how little girls move from pink into purple somewhere around 6 or 7 years old? I’m regressing, I think, in my old age, or as Berks County puts it, “going backward.” How I love that phrase! Anyway, this is what came in last week:
I’m seeing a trend. Perhaps an obsession.
I finished Virginia’s Sweater (a new free pattern at the shop that was based on a sweater Virginia Griffith wore in one day that we all liked). David beat me to it, of course, and thanks to him, we ironed out a few problems, so it’s ready to go. Here’s my version, along with all the colors of Jeannee we currently have in stock.
It takes somewhere around 7 – 10 balls of Jeannee, so the whole project is under $50, and it’s cute, comfortable and summery. Be sure to check out David’s version in a previous post, along with an amazing double sided cowl.
Deb Hawk brought in her Dahlia cardigan to model – it looks so fabulous on her. The front looks stylishly unstructured and simple, with just a little leaf detail at the cuff:
…and the back is this beautiful floral motif:
Wonderful job, Deb (as usual)!
The new Noro magazine has arrived. It’s full of bright colors, of course, and good designs. This is my favorite, made from 2 colors of Silk Garden Sock:
Fun and interesting to make, with short-row shaping doing op-art with the stripes.
Just a heads-up: we’ll be closed Saturday, June 16 for Art on the Avenue. It’s my favorite Penn Ave. event and for 10 years, I’ve had to work, so this summer I’m closing the store and enjoying the arts and crafts.
That’s all I have time for this morning! See you…
Trish
