Ever since I made a cute little vest for Maxwell the Great (Nephew), I’ve been looking at vests to knit for fall. It has been a while since they’ve caught my attention but now they’re looking very interesting and fresh. I made a simple off-white vest for myself for the summer and am finding it very useful indeed. (Sorry, I didn’t write a pattern for it – yet.)
I received a shipment of Silk Garden Sock (four months earlier than I wanted it), and found this vest.
It’s designed for Silk Garden (worsted) but in Silk Garden Sock (which I consider a sport weight), the vest is super-light and airy, as well as an easy way to add a pop of color to an outfit without being too overwhelmed, very nice for early fall!
Here’s a new favorite of mine that I will certainly be making for this fall. It’s Nancy’s Vest by Carol Sunday – I haven’t swatched yet but I’m pretty sure I have the perfect yarn.
Breezing through Ravelry brought these nice ideas to light:
Elizabeth Smith of the Brown Stitch has many lovely vest patterns; this one has been in my favorites for a while:
And it just continues!
Linnea Tunic by Stella Smith
Flatter Me Vest by Maddy Cranley

…and that’s not half of them. I hope you’ll stroll through Ravelry and pick your own favorite. We can help you find the perfect yarn!
