Art on the Avenue is this weekend…

…and if you’ve ever been there you know it’s a wonderful street fair.  It also means that it’s nearly impossible to park and it’s a hard day to do normal business, so we will be CLOSED.  I hope you’ll come and enjoy the fun, but I will also be enjoying instead of working – sorry!

Well, I got nothing accomplished this weekend but had such a nice time visiting my sister that I don’t care.  Purl and Jack are sleeping off all the excitement and I did, too, with a nice afternoon nap today.  So I’m feeling as lazy as can be, but very relaxed!  She cooked, I ate, we did a little bit of genealogical research and had a very nice time despite the heat and the rain and the generally tropical atmosphere.  Hope you had a good one too.

As usual when I’ve been slacking off, I’m going to take the opportunity to show what others have accomplished, so here are some fabulous customer projects, finished to perfection:

First I want to show 2 Hawsers from the last knit-along, so beautiful.  Here is Jettie Hunt’s:

(Happy birthday, Jettie, my sweet! May you have many, many more, increasingly wonderful every year)

and here is Loretta Hollenbach’s:

Great jobs, lovely knitting.  I love them both (and I don’t just mean the sweaters!)

Ann Alderman finished this pretty shawl pattern, which was featured on the cover of knit.purl this past season.  She made it in Road to China Light, one of the most glorious yarns for shawls ever invented.  You can see how pretty the layered colors come out after blocking.  Nice job!

Donna Hain finished her Itaka, and embarked on a second one for a friend (who probably doesn’t realize just how lucky she is!):

She looks adorable, doesn’t she?

And Sarah Ruppert has become a mainstay of this kind of blog post.  She is an amazing knitter and is always kind enough to bring in her finished projects.  And they are always lovely.  These are some of her recently finished shawls:
