Happy Presidents Day! Is it Presidents’ or just Presidents? No matter, I hope you have the day off and can enjoy the beautiful sunshine despite its being cold, cold, cold outside.
I have finished the red thing I showed you a couple weeks ago, but it’s pinned out and drying on my bedroom floor so it still doesn’t look like something to wear. I hope I’ll have a decent pic next time, as well as some yarn to make it – supply issues are still not totally resolved and things take a longer time to get here than we expect. So, I’m going to instead talk about some of the beautiful things that our customers have made recently!
Karen Wenrich is demonstrating the generous fit of her Pink Fizz, which she made in an organic wool that really shows off the intricate cable & lace detail.
Vera Kochan made these cute mother & daughter hats to send to a friend for Valentine’s Day.
Suzy Crump made this amazing cabled sweater from a tweedy organic wool blend. The cables are on both front and back, which to my mind is a tribute to Suzy’s dedication to the project. I’m not sure I could have done both – the cables were quite complex!
Lynda Slovitsky made these cute socks using Noro’s Silk garden Sock and a plain black sock yarn. I like that the color flow of the yarn made the socks similar but not identical, like fraternal twins. Lynda makes the most beautiful sweaters…
…but sometimes we want something fun, different and quick!
Faith Adams made this little jacket from chunky, soft, washable Big Merino. It’s adorable, and so is Faith!
Lorraine Houseman is the best crocheter I’ve ever known. She makes the loveliest sweaters and tops, and does it using stitch patterns from this source, silhouettes from that source, and putting them all together in her own template to make them fit perfectly. Here are some of her projects over the last year or so:
Thanks to these and all our talented customers for all the wonderful work, for putting up with my terrible photography and for making everything worthwhile!!
