Happy 2022!(?)

I do love a brand-new year, but I guess this year we’ll approach it with caution, like you would a stray dog that is wagging its tail but also baring its teeth. Who knows which way it will go?

Anyway, we’re still trying to keep our customers as safe as possible, so we’ll still be checking vax cards when you sign up for classes and we’re recommending masks in the store again. Omicron, like a rampaging giant lizard, is tearing through Berks and surrounding areas. I know two people who are vaxxed and boosted and still got it. They didn’t have to go to the hospital, but two weeks later, they are both still very sick. Please be careful out there!

I hope your holidays were enjoyable. Mine were very quiet, which I prefer, and they gave me a chance to experiment a little bit. I saw a cute little bag someone had made from fabric and watched a video of how they had constructed it from a strip of material, and of course, thought about knitting a strip of fabric and making one of my own. I decided to stripe part of it and used two colors of Rowan’s Creative Linen, a rough and tough machine-washable yarn that will stand up to use as a market bag.

It turned out pretty darn cute!

The free-with-purchase pattern is available at the store. Come see it!
