It used to be that thinking of a title for a post would keep me from writing something, so I solved that by just using the date as a title. Very sensible. Now I feel like I should have a theme before I write, but again, if it’s just a miscellaneous bunch of stuff, I feel like I can’t write. I’m trying to overcome that because I’m pretty sure it’s a hold-over from 8th grade English class, and if I don’t take up too much of your time, you don’t mind that it isn’t particularly coherent, do you?

So, I want to show you two shawls that Elaine Boylan made, one for herself and one for a friend. Lovely colors, and they blocked out beautifully. I don’t know which is which, but that’s a very lucky friend either way!

And speaking of shawls, here is a gorgeous number by Amy Wall. I believe she was quite glad when it was done, but it was definitely worth the effort. The second photo shows the reverse side. Brava!

Ruby is doing very well. She had her first vet appointment since she came here, and she’s in good shape for an 8-year old puppy mill mom. She’s lost a pound or so since she’s been getting regular exercise and could lose a bit more for the sake of her joints (as could someone else who lives in the same house) but otherwise she’s healthy. She’s very happy to be at the store and see other people and watch the world go by on Penn Ave. but she still has a tendency to try to make a break for it. I’m sure she’ll get over it in time, but right now, we do have to watch her when she’s at the front door. After a hard day watching Ruby TV, she’s ready for a nap with her lambie:

I want to give kudos to Wildcraft Landscapes, a Wyomissing company that installs native plant gardens. They did a beautiful job with my dreary little front yard and their crew is efficient and friendly. Nate TietbohI designed it all and was pleasure to work with, and I couldn’t be more pleased.

Can’t wait to see it in the spring when it fills out!
