Before I forget, the shop will be closed Friday and Saturday before Memorial Day, May 23 & 24, while I attend a memorial weekend for my sister. It will be good to see my scattered family but strange to do it without her.
Our summer class list has just been published. It’s a bit light, but we all have a lot going on this year. I hope you find something of interest anyway. Come in and see the projects in person!
One of the projects is this cute tee, which I just finished.

It’s a great use of our many colorful summer yarns…

…and…

…and while the knitting is simple, you’re spurred on by the color changes and wanting to see how it all comes together. No seams, but lots of picking up. (C’mon, you know you need the practice!) Very comfy fabric for summer, and the sleeves can be any length. These are elbow length on me, and were done the whole way with 16″ circulars, no double points, no magic loop, no decreases. Simple.
I ordered some new yarn from Madelinetosh, their Farm Twist, a very squishy DK merino. I couldn’t resist doing something with it, so I made this long and cozy and adorable scarf

which you will want around your neck all winter. Simple knitting of ribbing followed by garter ridges, a lovely project for TV watching or traveling and you will seriously love working with this yarn. We have some beautiful colors, with a new one coming every month:

Just got in some joyful colors of sock yarn from Opal and not a moment too soon! We had mostly neutrals and denims on the shelf – nothing wrong with that! But we need some brightness and fun, too. These fill the bill!

And just to top things off, we have a new Pop-Up Color of Smooshy Cashmere from Dream in Color:

I could knit with this yarn for the rest of my life and be happy. I’m making a little one-skein project with this colorway, a Romi pattern called Shards (very descriptive):

Don’t know if the result will be enchanting or ridiculous. We’ll find out!
