Spring is a terrible tease, isn’t s/he? Flirting with us with one beautiful day, then abandoning us to cold, wind and rain for days at a time. I love spring, it’s so pretty with new leaves on the trees, and the cherry trees blooming and the spring bulbs giving us color relief from the neutrals of winter. I am, however, sick to the point of wanting to stamp my foot when I wake up and see 30-something degrees on my phone, and know that I’ve still got to bundle up in down and wool to take Purl for her morning constitutional. I know that in just a few weeks I’ll probably be whining about how warm it has gotten, but I’m human so I reserve the right to whine no matter what kind of weather we’re having.
I’ve had spring in my knitting for some time now, interspersed with the horrible blanket, which is finally done, much to our collective relief, I imagine.
This pretty cardigan is my spring class, and I really enjoyed knitting it.
The lace pattern is lovely and easy to memorize, the pattern is well-written, and the construction is interesting. I modified just a few things to suit myself and my shape, and of course, one of the benefits of taking a class is learning how you can do the same. Come in to take a closer look and see the other projects on offer this season. We keep the schedule light in the spring when everyone is so busy, but I hope you’ll find something you like.
Summer yarn has been trickling in, with some nice colors of Modern Cotton in worsted
and new colors in Summer Sesame.
Also received a limited amount of a new yarn called Isola, a nice linen-y blend that I used to do this cute summer version of our Eyelet Cocoon – more eyelet-y and less cocoon-y. The knitting is simple but the construction is interesting so I’m thinking about adding this as an advanced beginner class, but can’t figure out when!
This would look great in the brighter colors of Summer Sesame, too, but I want to use that for a loose-knit t-shirt, just can’t decide the color yet.
New sock yarn alert!
You can see the patterning from the little pic on the label. Pretty cute!
I have a ball at home to try, just waiting for everything else to be done. And when will that happen, I wonder.
I’m going to be closed this coming Saturday to give myself a longer weekend, with fingers crossed for nice weather so I can get a few things accomplished outside. I hope you all have a lovely Easter or Passover or whatever you celebrate, and hope to see you soon!
