This monster has been keeping me busy for the last few weeks:
It’s from a pattern called Bibbe that has been in my favorites for years and all of a sudden, the beautiful colors of Eco-Tweed inspired me to cast on. The photo doesn’t give you an idea of just how massive this thing is, so here it is:
It’s a wonderful weight to wear, even though it took a lot of stockinette and garter rib to get there.
Super TV watching project. (I watched Bad Sisters trying to kill off an evil brother-in-law. Very satisfying.)
Now I need some small projects. Crestview is a super-cute hat designed by Meg Roke with a highly-textured stitch pattern that’s fun to knit.
Here’s my WIP:
I’m really enjoying it, after yards of stockinette. Meg has so many great small projects, and if you’re looking for some gift-y ideas, there are tons of ideas on her Ravelry pages. Plus she grew up in Wyo and learned to knit at Yarn Gallery! Even though she lives in Ohio now, her designs remind me of the things I like best about my Berks adopted home. They’re down to earth and unpretentious, always with a subtle charm and often, an unexpected fillip that makes it all the more fun. Check her out!
Deb’s mitts class has a couple open spots so I’m reminding you of how lovely these mitts are and what fab gifts they would make:
Cozy and beautiful – just the thing for walking the dog, running errands, or for a special someone who walks dogs and runs a lot of errands! Class starts October 29…
…Meanwhile, Karen spent the weekend at Rhinebeck, the knitter’s Mecca, also known as the New York Sheep and Wool Festival. She sent a photo of the crowd that Andrea Mowry attracted (she of Find Your Fade, The Shift, and other amazing designs). She’s a Rock Star!
