The holidays are a stressful time even for people who enjoy celebrating them. This year, it’s tough to celebrate anything, let alone the season when we’re all supposed to happy and cheerful. Too many scary things around this season. Can’t say it’s merry or bright. Can’t say we’ll be of good cheer. CAN say we’ll be glad to see 2020 go, so New Year’s Eve, I’m going to pour a double of my annual shot of Jack Daniels into my celebratory eggnog, utter an expletive that sums up this terrible year, drink up and go to bed.
And I will try very hard to be optimism personified, starting 1/1/21. This virus will be conquered by a vaccine. Restaurants will re-open and we’ll all go out together. We’ll go to see our friends and family. We’ll put our masks into the bottom drawer of the old armoire, and the next time we open that drawer, we’ll throw them away. We’ll smile at people in the grocery store instead of avoiding them. And we’ll all squash into our little classroom in the back of the store and make some beautiful things together.
It’ll be great!
Meanwhile, we endure.
The store will be open December 23 from 11 to 6, and December 24 from 11 to 3, then closed until Wednesday, January 6.
Be careful, safe and well, my friends.
