A Change in the Light

I spent the last post complaining (a little) (okay, a lot) about knitting with summer yarns in the middle of winter. I gave myself a wonderful break from that by diving into this project:

Yana Light by Isabell Kraemer

using this yarn:

and this color:

It’s pretty yummy. I’m not done yet (big sweater, fingering-weight yarn, size 4 needles!) but I’ve taken a break to work on a pretty spring sweater, and can look forward to getting back to it afterwards.

Meanwhile, the light outside is starting earlier and staying later and growing brighter (well, I’m hopeful, anyway) and we’ve got beautiful things coming in that are very tempting!

From Manos del Uruguay, one new color of Feliz, their beautiful sport weight superwash blend:

and three vibrant new color ways of Alegria, for socks and shawls and scarves:

Oh! those colors!

And from Noro, new colors of Sonata, a washable blend of silk, cotton and synthetic, one of my favorite yarns for any season because of its texture and subtle color variations:

We made this sweater last year with Sonata,

so I now have 2 Sonata sweaters and will definitely have a third this year.

Also from Noro, lovely Kumo, another great blend but with just a touch of wool, along with truly beautiful muted colors:

I made this sweater last year:

and would be happy to have another! Maybe Churchmouse’s Simple Tee?

Again??? But it’s super-wearable!

Come in, hold the yarn in your hands, get inspired, and let’s find the perfect project!
