Must be the time of year; I can’t settle down to knit without thinking of a hundred things that need to be done. All the things I put off during winter because the store is busy, the weather’s terrible, whatever, now must be scheduled and attended to.
You know what I mean, we all go through it. Where is my personal assistant to organize my life, make my doctor and dentist appointments, take the dogs to the vet, get food when we’re running low, and call contractors when they’re needed? I shouldn’t complain, I only need to do these things for myself and the dogs. Most of you have husbands, kids, and/or parents that you’re also organizing for…so I’ll quit complaining. But I think there must be a business model there, and money to be made somehow, offering to be a traditional ’50’s wife and assume all those duties (with one major exception!!) for a nice fat fee.
So I haven’t been accomplishing much in the way of knitting in the last few weeks, but I did finish one or two smaller things.
This:

A little woobie, called Knubbelchen, that takes one ball of Dreambaby Paintpot and a little bit of white, tan or brown for the head, which is stuffed with fiberfill. I embroidered (if you can call it that) a smile and a French knot nose, but you can leave the face plain. Loads of fun and so cute in this yarn. Thanks to Marci Frey for finding the pattern, which is free on Ravelry!
Then after that whirlwind of productivity, I really did find a pattern that I wanted to use for our new Octave silk yarn. It’s a nice shawl, interesting to knit without being too challenging or attention-heavy, called Brookhill by Laura Aylor. It looks great in a solid yarn

but I used one of the hand-dyed colors of Octave. Successful? Hmmm…

…soft, drapey, not heavy. I like it very much, but I think I’ll also make it in a solid or semi-solid, sometime.
