Odds and Ends

First, a couple of corrections from previous posts.  Deb’s Beginner Classes on Thursday nights in May will be from 6 – 7:30 on May 17 (not May 10) and May 31.

And this pretty green poncho was not knit by Donna Hain, who said “Thanks for crediting me with that nice poncho, but I didn’t make it in green.  Mine was gray!” It was beautifully knit by Cindy Schuchart:

I started Sunshine Coast last week and here’s how it’s coming along:

I’ve also got one sleeve done and the second started. (I hate doing sleeves last, as I have stated more times than necessary on this blog!)  I’m using yarn from my stash on this one, but would also love it in Modern Cotton, which arrived this week in these pretty colors (shown next to the Camden Hills Poncho that I showed you last week):

The navy and teal – both very tempting, and it would be so pretty in either of the shades of iris!  For a lighter version you can use Modern Cotton DK, and for a more casual version, you could use Remix Light, a tweedy blend of recycled fibers.

Of course, you can use any one of our DK-to-light-worsted yarns to make this sweater for any season you like.

I’m working on a new class schedule which I hope to have out within the week.  We’ll see who commits to what!  It will include some advanced beginner classes from Deb – a cute pair of mitts, a hat, and possibly a scarf, each one of which will teach new skills.  I’ll be continuing our beautiful little projects from The Great Oddments Knitdown and also doing Sunshine Coast.  Karen is getting her daughter graduated and ready for college, so we’ll see what else if anything she wants to do this summer.  Stay tuned!
