We received some beautiful yarns from Lang this past week. Lang is a Swiss company with very innovative yarns and an extensive design collection every year. The designs are modern, some edgy, some traditional, but all with flair and a definite sense of style. The patterns are written in the traditional way, worked flat with seams. However, the typical top-down, seamless sweaters I’ve seen on Ravelry lately seem a little tired and boring, a little been-there-done-that, so I’m willing to entertain the idea of seaming again!
This is Mila, a wool/nylon chainette that is soft and light and heathered:
The colors are amazing, a bit softer than shown here but full of nuance and brightness. Here are a couple of Lang’s designs for the yarn (I’m happy to say that their new collections are available through Ravelry now.)
Love this poncho:
I think this asymmetrical piece is a bit weird, but I like it anyway, and it looks like fun to knit and wear:
A pretty cabled hat:
I wanted to knit with it a bit so I made up this infinity scarf with traveling rib stitches. It will be free with purchase of 2 balls, which are enough to make this piece both taller and longer than shown here. There is a lot of yardage on a ball!
We also received Nova, a sport/DK-weight chainette in a wonderfully luxurious blend of merino, baby camel, and nylon. The colors I ordered are a bit somber, but they are all wearable and versatile sweater choices:
A few of Lang’s designs for Nova are shown below:
This sweater looks plain on the front:
The fun part is on the back!
This short-sleeved ribbed pullover would be a cozy layering piece in the winter:
And this simple oversized pullover, which I love and would wear everywhere:
Our afghan knit-along starts this weekend – I’m psyched for it to get going. And I promise I’m working on fall classes. It’s just that I’m in the mood to knit, not to plan – but I’ll do it!!
