Strictly F/O’s

I have a lot of customer projects to show you and that’s going to be what this post is all about so I can catch up!  A couple of things first:

1)  The rest of the day I’ll be working on the class schedule – I have all the information now and just need to organize it and be sure I have photos, etc.  I promise that by the end of this week, it shall be posted and off my to-do list!

2)  Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County is beginning a knitting and crochet program for their patients.  As they are receiving treatment, the patients will be able to pick up some yarn and needles or a hook and do a small and easy project.  They need ideas for easy projects that could be done in an hour or two, and supplies like old hooks and needles (which will stay at the center, not go home with people) and small amounts of yarn.  Do we possibly have anything like that, people?  Old straight needles that we’ve forsaken for our beloved circulars?  Half-skeins of yarn left over from a project?  Yarn that we have but hate?  Someone else could use all these things!  Please make sure everything is clean (we know how vulnerable cancer patients are) and neat – please, no tangled yarn!  We’ll be collecting continuously; bring in what you can whenever you think of it. It’s time for a fall clean-out anyway, get some room for new stuff!  There will be a box in the kitchen for any and all donations, and thank you!  I’m going to make a buttoned scarf and send it and our pattern along.  Any other ideas??

Now to the projects!

Anne Nordhoy used up leftovers from other projects (with a little new added in) to make this striking sleeveless top.  Easy, she says – ha!

Kristin Ruth finished her basket from Amanda Barrell’s class.  I love the shape, and you can see how useful it is:

Susan Price made this adorable monkey from Silk Garden and some leftovers.  I don’t know the pattern – sorry!

Fran Krieger has been knitting away for her soon-to-come granddaughter.  Donna finished her adorable little dress with a picot edge:

Jettie Hunt made this lovely cardigan for a friend who visited from France this summer.  Her mari (husband) will be getting a sweater as well!

Barbara Esterly made this gorgeous Inspira Cowl from Road to China Light and Sausalito – it’s beautifully soft:

Kathy McGarry crocheted this lovely baby blanket from Baby Boo.  You can see the nice drape, but you can’t feel the smooth softness of it!

Marci Frey finished her Harriett sweater, begun in class with Donna. It fits perfectly and the edging looks great.  I’m not sure Marci will ever do another feather and fan project, however!

Just a couple more photos, since they’re loading really fast this morning.  I planted a bunch of sunflower seeds this past spring, all along my back fence.  The birds decided they didn’t want to wait and ate most of the seeds before they could sprout, but a few made it.  I love sunflowers, because the bees are so happy wandering over their big fat faces while they’re pollinating, and the birds love them when the seeds come along.  I’ve already seen a little gold finch taking stock of the situation.

Maybe it’s a good thing they all didn’t come up – they’re humongous!

See you soon…
