Things Are Heating Up…

…just as the weather will start cooling down; that’s the way it works in the yarn biz.  We received a humongous Cascade shipment this past week!

Gorgeous colors of luxurious wool/silk Venezia Worstedveneziawstd

and Venezia Sport

Both weights are wonderful to work with, with a smooth hand, glowing colors, and superb stitch definition.

We also are stocking Cascade’s Superwash wool in 3 weights this season.  This yarn, with the delightful feel of top-quality wool is also going to be the workhorse of your (or your kids’) wardrobe because it is machine washable and dryable.  There is a terrific color range to choose from in 220 worsted:

220sw

chunky 128:128sw

and in sport weight, already a favorite for babies and toddlers, in lots of new colors (Sorry, I didn’t get a photo of it.)  Come in, see and touch, and choose your project while the selection is excellent.  (Special orders from the west coast don’t work very well, because the freight is too high.)
The shipment also contained new colors of Kid Seta and Kid Seta Noir, both laceweight mohairs that mix beautifully with other yarns to pump up the gauge and add a lightness and softness that is all its own.  New colors of Pluscious, a fluffy synthetic that is fast becoming a favorite for toys, blanket buddies and quick, cute baby sweaters.  And Magnum, outrageously chunky and woolly.

Also arrived:

Fino from Manos del Uruguay (which came in, went out, and now we need some more), CrockODye  and Elfin Tweed from Knit One, Crochet Too.  Both are handwash fingering yarns in sumptuous colors and fiber blends, suitable for socks, shawls, and lightweight sweaters and scarves. Milano from Debbie Bliss is here, and Oxford from Katia.   I can’t show you photos because uploading is taking way too long, wish I knew what the problem is.  I will also cut this short and hold onto photos of customer projects until later – Sorry!!

This week I’m expecting Cima and Silk Cloud from Shibui and Pagoda from Island Yarns.  All are new to us – I fell in love with many new yarns this year and I hope you will, too!

Working on the fall class schedule, hope to have it up by next week.  Stay tuned!
