It’s A Purl!

Marci Frey and Donna Hain both suggested Purl as a name for the new puppy and I loved it the minute I heard it, so contest over and won and decision made!  Amy Lipton also suggested the name but a day after I had decided, so it looks like it was a popular choice.  I’m going to pick Purl up next Monday, weather permitting, so you’ll meet her soon.  Meanwhile, here are a couple pictures:

Remind you of anyone?

And this is Purl’s play pen, which will stay at the shop.

I’m thinking of renaming the shop, what do you think?  Or does “Purl’s Play Pen” conjure up thoughts of Al’s Diamond Cabaret?  That’s one way to get men into a yarn shop!

But, after all, it is a yarn shop, and here are some wonderful projects for you to contemplate:

Jettie Hunt finished her Snowshoe Aran, and what a lovely job!  I always love Jettie in these earthy tones.  This is only the second one I’ve seen finished from the class – come on, folks, winter’s going to be over soon!

Amy Lipton finished this very cool yoga mat bag in pretty shades of pink, aqua and purple cotton:

Sandy Yarnall brought her daughter-in-law’s mother, who was visiting from Sweden, into the shop.  She had this adorable baby set that she made in cotton for their soon-to-be-born grandchild:

And Donna’s Fringed Hat class finished up this past week.  I caught Claire Sanacory and Carol Pitts on their way out, cozy and warm in their beautifully made new hats!

Nice work!!

See you soon…
