This and That

This week’s weather has been spring at its finest!  I hope it continues through this weekend for Art on the Avenue on Saturday, June 18.  Yarn Gallery will be closed on Saturday but I hope you’ll come to West Reading’s biggest event of the year.  This year has the added attraction of an artist’s competition called Plein Air West Reading.  Read about it and come see what they make of our little borough!

It was so nice that I took the vest I made this past week out for a little fresh air, too.  This is a simple piece that will be wonderful for layering when the weather is cool (like this morning, for instance.)

I chose a really bright colorway, which is great for sunny days.  The neckline is a simple roll collar with one buttonhole (or pin if you happen to have the perfect one.)

There is a little bit of a pattern stitch, just enough to keep you awake amidst a lot of stockinette.  I do love that about Noro patterns.  They don’t leave the color to make the statement – no, that’s not enough; let’s throw in a little lace or a few cables, just to add to the fun!

This beautiful version of Zen Yarn Garden’s Artwork Series finally arrived:

It’s based on the colors in Picasso’s famous “Blue Nude” – it’s 500 yards of merino-silk-cashmere goodness!

And I added a little owl to Maxwell the Great (nephew)’s pocket pals.  One evening = a little tiny bit of cuteness:

Now the mousey has a new frenemy:

Have fun!
